Notes

Toe-up using magic loop. I knit both socks at the same time but on separate needles.

I used the Snake River pattern stitch for the instep and leg, modified for 72 stitches. Otherwise, I didn’t use a pattern, just did my customary sock recipe.

I started with Rosemarie’s Belly Button start to provisionally cast on 9 stitches, then increased to 72 stitches using a toe-up version of a top-down round toe.

After completing all the toe increases, I knit one round plain, moved the last stitch from the instep needle to the sole/heel needle--35 stitches on the instep needle, 37 stitches on the heel needle, then began knitting the Snake River pattern on the instep stitches keeping the rest of the foot in stst.

I work a Fish Lips Kiss heel on both socks, then continued the pattern stitch on the front of the leg, but worked half a pattern’s worth of stst on the back of the leg before starting the pattern stitch all the way around. The front of the leg has 5 pattern repeats, the back 4.5 repeats.

I finished with a 1 x 1 ribbed cuff, 8 rounds, and bound off using the Kitchener bind off. The invisible bind off flares a little bit, but I don’t mind that.
