Turned out good and he likes it, but I did not like knitting it because it was difficult on the small needles and the yarn split a lot. Stupidly, this is the second Frost Hat I knit because I saw how I could improve on the design: instead of picking up and knitting the inside band after the hat is done, and then sewing it down, (which I was unhappy w/ the first hat results because it seemed sloppy); I knit the inside band first, switched to the larger needles (and made inc’s etc) and when the cabled outside was the same length as the band I knit 2 tog, live sts w/ provisional sts, 3 to 4 or something (after figuring out the math). I like this better than the original, it turned out the way I had envisioned it. I also purled 2 rows for the turning, I’v found this works better than just 1 rnd.
