My first time trying illusion knitting and it was so fun. Because it is knit sideways it was a bit hard to imagine the finished object.

I would recommend casting on provisionally. It will make the Kitchener at the end easier in my opinion.

I read notes about making sure not to size down because it distorts the illusion, so I opted to size up and knit the long version. I wish I had either sized down or knit the short version of the sized up version. I was in between sizes, and didn’t want it too cropped because I wanted to wear to work. It is slightly longer after blocking than I wanted, but looks cute tucked in, so I am not concerned. I did end up doing a black icord edge to the arms and neckline. I really did like the slipped edge, but I prefer the icord edge. I will say that the icord edge forced me to dip into my other skein!

I really enjoyed this knit, but I hated the lay out of this pattern, and I found that some of the wording was vague or a bit unclear.
