Knit with guidance from the lovely @allysondykhuizen This was worked from the bottom up in the round using ladder back jacquard with a 7 stitch steek for arm holes (because I used fingering & this is the exact yarn I used for my McCartney sweater so I just did the same thing there)

I opted for a crew neck and did crew neck shaping after my last row of sheep. V neck steek would have been easier, but I thought the crew neck would allow me to have the maximum amount of sheep. #teamfactoryfarm #americaneedsfarmers

I did plan out my sheep placement with excel with my arm decreases, but prioritized them lining up with my bottom sheep. For that reason, I did not shepherd at all and just lost a couple as my stitch count got smaller. For me this was just easier. I was ok with having a sheep poking his head out to say hi, but I wasn’t cool with a sheep butt or just legs. In the machine knit version sheep get chopped

then knit about an inch of 1x1 ribbing for neck and sleeves. I duplicate stitch the black stitches for my black sheep and for the eyes (to avoid having albino sheep)
