Notes

I queued this in November 2010 and am finally casting on in 2013. I am using sportweight yarn, so using US 7s and CO 250 sts.

10/4/2013: Finished the first skein of yarn & have 6 and 3/4 inches deep of the fabric. It seems like 11 inches will be really deep, but I’ll certainly have enough yarn.

I know a lot of people who have knit several of these cowls. It is easy to knit but I don’t think I would knit it again because it requires more attention than I like in my mindless knitting. I keep missing up the slipped stitch pattern (two purls or two slipped in a row) because I want to be able to knit without thinking about it. Still, I’m happy with it and love the color almost more than I can say.

10/16/2013: Not the fastest knit ever, but all of a sudden I was at 11 inches worked and ready to bind off. I used the lace bind-off (knit 2 together through the back of the loop, slipped right-hand stitch back to left needle, repeat) for a stretchy bind off.
