This is probably the best way to construct this sort of graphic pattern. But I never really got the “rhythm” of it, continued to rip and re stitch all the way through. I did a couple of rows of sc around the edge to help even it out. I killed the yarn to improve the drape. So many ends! I am still snipping them as they poke out.
