I shortened the tree by a tier because I actually didn’t start with a full skein. I guesstimate that a full skein would be enough for the entire project.

I think, if I do this again, I’ll make the decreases beneath each tier larger (like the first two) so there’s more separation between layers rather than smooth like the last 3. Also, I did a ch 3 on the bottom three tiers rather than a ch 2 - I think I’d increase those each layer or every two layers if I did it again as well.

I didn’t do the balls because the kids, Erik, and I made sculpey ornaments for this instead- we wanted grandma to be able to decorate this little tree! :)

I added a bag of rice (about a cup and a half) to the bottom of the tree so that I could stuff it fuller but still have it stand up straight.

Overall this was an easy project that came together quickly.
