Day 1: completed under side tentacles (suckers) - about 10g of blue yarn (contrasting colour) per tentacle.

Days 2 and 3: finished all 8 tentacles.

Day 4: eyes, head and under belly.

Day 5: assembly

14mm safety eyes. I would probably have used 16mm glittery eyes if I had any (couldn’t find any at my local yarn store and didn’t like the reviews for the ones on Amazon).

5mm hook. I used “yarn under, yarn over” sc stitches - this creates tighter stitches, a thicker fabric, but uses more yarn.

90g of blue, 188g of red.

I made a mistake on the upper side tentacles (I should have made a round of sc before joining the 2 pieces) and only realised that after finishing at least 4 of them! I didn’t want to frog all that work (this yarn is very good, but it sheds a bit when you frog it), so I continued making all the other tentacles the same (wrong) way, and added a row of sc after joining the upper and under sides.

This is a nice pattern, pretty concise, it works up quickly, and I could have finished the entire thing in 2 or 3 days.
