Nice and quick project.

I used the “yarn under, yarn over” technique for the sc stitches throughout this project. However, I didn’t like the way the snake head turned out at first - I’m not sure whether it was the yarn under / yarn over or the fact that I had worked the colour changes way too tightly, but the head shape did not look right.
I decided to re-work the snake piece from round 16 to 25 using regular sc stitches (yarn over / yarn over): problem solved!

I used half of the strands of some cotton DK yarn with a 1.5mm hook for a thinner, less pronounced tongue.

I attached the hanging strings to each side of the lantern as per the pattern, but then used the twisted fringe video tutorial by Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar to twist the strings:

To join the two sets of twisted hanging strings I used a bead and knotted the strings.
