Notes

Used ChiaoGoo interchangeable circulars, which match standard US needle sizes.

11/7/19- Pair#2- Sock#3&4
Finished sock#4. Used just over half a skein (26.8 gr) of Claret for all four socks. Very little left of the Autumn Spice, so I used all four skeins.

The materials for each pair of these socks cost:
$5.00 - Autumn Spice - 2 skeins
$0.85 - Claret - 1/3rd skein
$1.75 - Jawoll - 1 spool
$7.60 - Total materials
… plus labor

11/5/19
Finished sock#3. It weighs 44.66 grams; I have 4.14 gr of its skein left over. I am well underway with sock#4, which was started a few days ago.

11/1/19
Different dye lots and colors for the two remaining skeins of Autumn Spice. The 2014 skein is lighter than the 2017 skeins. I was going to make a gift for Pam, but these socks won’t 100% match. So I’ll make another pair for me.

10/31/19- Pair#1- Sock#2
Finished knitting sock#2 and redoing the cuff on sock#1. Used 90.85 gr of Autumn Spice and 13.01 gr of Claret for both socks for a total of 104 grams/pair. That’s 52 grams per sock and a skein weighs 49 grams.

10/30/19
This skein of Autumn Spice has lots of manufacturer joins in it, so sock#2 does not match sock#1. No knots, but roving joins. It’s also turned out to be 2 stitch widths narrower than sock#1. So either the yarn is thinner, the needles are thinner, or my gauge has changed. Both skeins are the same dye lot, so go figure.

Finished the heel. Used exactly one spool of Jawoll for the toes & heels of two socks.
Sock#1- Frogged the Claret cuff to make sure I have enough Claret for a second pair of socks. I’ll use Autumn Spice for the cuffs of both pairs of socks.

10/28/19
Back to work on Pair#1.
Started sock#2 tonight. Toe completed. I timed myself. It takes me 19 minutes to knit 10 rows of 44 sts including two turns per row. DK yarn knits up fast compared to Super Fine.

10/1/19- Sock#1
Finished the 1st sock this morning. Weighs 49.2 grams (125 yds). Used 12.4 gr of Claret for the toe, heel, & cuff and 36.8 gr of Autumn Spice.

Since I didn’t knit much yesterday, it took about 2 days to make one sock: 1 day to knit the foot and 1 day for the leg.

9/30/19
Finished the foot on sock#1. Working on the leg.

9/29/19
1AAT on Magic Loop using ChiaoGoo interchangeable circulars. Using Jawoll to reinforce the toes, the center 8 sts of last half of the gusset soles, and the heels.

I might be able to make 2 pair of socks out of 4 skeins of Autumn Spice if I use the Claret for the toes & heels and maybe the cuff. That is if each sock only uses 12.5 grams each of Claret!
