5/15/19- YELLOW SET
I’m going to make this one the same as the first set I made in 2013. I’ll use US 5 needles for both the sack and the hat.
Sleep Sack:
Finished 6/2/19; I took my time.
CO 96 sts, which makes 8 owls and a 16.5” circumference. 10 rows of stockinette before creating the owls. It is 14” long from the top of the owls before starting decreases. It is 16.5” long from the CO edge to the end of the decreases. It weighs 108 grams.
Hat:
Finished 6/16/19
CO 72 sts, which makes 6 owls and a 12” circumference. 10 rows of stockinette before creating the owls. It weighs 36 grams.
5/14/19- SALMAN SET
Used 132 grams for a complete set of sack & hat.
Hat #2:
I used 31.6 grams of yarn on this hat.
CO 72 sts for 6 owls. Following the same 12 st repeat pattern for the owls as the sleep sack. US 5 double pointed needles produce 6 sts & 7 rows/in. Brim should be a 12” circumference, which is a newborn size.
Sleep Sack:
Dimensions: 16 rows of stockinette make up the rolled top. It is 13.5” from the top of owls to the start of the decreases for a longer baby. It’s 15” from the top of the owls to the bottom. 1.5” of decreases. It’s 17” from the unrolled top to the center bottom and the body is 17” in circumference. It weighs 99.8 grams.
CO 84 sts for 7 owls.
US 7 16” circular needles produce 5 sts and 7 rows/in. I finished the bottom of the sleep sack like I finish the top of a hat. I didn’t make the star, because of using 84 sts instead of 85.
Hat #1:
CO 60 sts for 6 owls.
US 8 double pointed needles produce 5 sts/in. Brim should be a 12” circumference, which is a newborn size. I wish I had made the hat with US 7 needles, because I like the tighter tension with this yarn. It weighs 29.2 grams.
Rolled brim: 10 rows stockinette, including CO row.
Body: Started owl cables on row 11.
Initial comments:
I used 1.5 skeins of yarn for the last set I made.
