I used Hetty to experiment with lace and gauge. The wool was listed as DK, but knitted to the same gauge as the aran-weight I used in an earlier rendition. I found another lace pattern that knit over six stitches, though the number of rows in a repeat is greater. There were bluebells and forget-me-nots blooming in my garden when I started this; they seemed a promise during those early stressful days of Covid-19 Quarantine. The color of the yarn was meant as an echo of these flowers, as well as providing a perfect match to a pair of whimsical secondhand shoes I bought on-line. The whole project turned into an extravaganza including a dress, hat, and jewellry, the perfect thing to lift spirits in this odd bit of history.
