Notes

This is my first real cable project. I’ve already ripped it out and started over 4 times. I think I’ve got the hang of it now though….

First one came out too small so I’m starting over w/ the larger size…. :-(

11/28: I finished the first one in the larger size, but I’m still worried it might be too small. So I’m having Jodi try it on before I start the second one. I’m dreading that I may have to rip it out once again…

12/03: It was too small for Jodi when she tried it on so I ripped it out. I’ll start over by casting on 72 sts.

12/09: Ugh, they’re still too small. I was almost done with the one with 72 stitches and I ripped it out because I knew it was coming out too small.
I’ve started over with size 11 needles. I cast on 64 stitches. After the initial ribbed rows and the 3 rows of stocking stitch, I’m doing k3, c3b, k3, p6 repeated around. Then, obviously c3f a few rows up. I think this way will be much stretchier.
Maybe I was doing something wrong before? This is my first try at a cable pattern. It looks pretty, but it comes out sooo tight.

12/26: I finally finished them on Tuesday in the new bigger pattern. And of course they’re way too big for Jodi. :(
I’m going to go ahead and put them up on sale on my etsy site. They would be perfect for anyone size 14ish and up!
