This hat was inspired by Renee’s daughter, Steph and her victory over brain cancer THREE TIMES! …..even though she was told her cancer was terminal at the age of 12 at Sick Kids in Toronto. Renee packed her daughter in the car and drove to St. Jude’s…..cancer defeated!

Today Steph, despite physical disabilities and several health issues as a result of the cancer and treatment, she is a young woman with a mission! Last year, when I was struggling on how to get the Gold Craft collection of patterns started I looked at all Steph has been through and how she was just not giving up and I decided I couldn’t give up either and to just get at it! This hat pattern was created that day!
