This is a lovely lace shawl that’s very easy for me to work on while hanging out with a friend or two or while watching a movie at home with my husband.
I had some trouble figuring out what the designer meant by a “chain bow.” I couldn’t find any information anywhere. Everyone I asked was equally mystified. I finally decided the designer had to mean the center of the V-stitch. I’m still not sure, but it does seem to have worked.

My crochet hook is hand-turned by Bill at Turn of the Century. I recommend his work highly. He makes all of my crochet hooks and Tunisian hooks. He also makes knitting needles.
The crochet hook in my photos for this project is made of African Blackwood.

I finished the shawl last week, but I still haven’t had a chance to get photos.
If I were to make this shawl again, I would choose a different yarn. The textures of the design are muddled or invisible within Scheepjes Whirl’s speckles.

This is the first time I’ve used such large tassels for a shawl, but from a practical point of view, they work well. Without them, the shawl is very light and inclined to blow away! Alternately, I could have made it larger than the pattern called for, but I don’t think I had enough yarn left in the cake to do the requisite repeats for it to look right.
The last picture is uploaded now. All done.

I’m going to try this project again, this time with a long gradient yarn without speckles.
If you’re puzzled like I was about what the designer meant by a chain bow, check out MrsGorgeous’ comment on this project.
