I created this shawl and scarf by using the yarn and the “step” pattern in Kira Dulaney’s Wind and Sea shawl kit. I purchased the kit from her at Stitches West in Feb. 2022.

You can see how closely I followed what I think of as her “steps” for her design’s increases and decreases. I love this part of her design, which is why I purchased the kit. I do intend to create her design later after I achieve the ability to work into the chains that her pattern requires. I need much more practice before I’m ready for her design.

The stitch patterns I used are a combination of drop stitches, tss, and some yarn-over 3CLs. As with Kira Dulaney’s design, I increased six stitches every six rows, then later decreased six stitches every two rows.

After I finished the shawl, I made a smaller version as a scarf, which is the pink and gray one in the pictures. I’ll update this page with the yarn I used later. I forgot to put that into my handwritten notes.
