I thought this is a cute pattern, but of course, I had to change things up.

Original idea was to use three colors, but one of the yarns can felt, so I stuck with the stash colors of Hempathy that I had, and alternated colors with every garter ridge or two.

My yarn is more of a DK/Sport weight, and I’m knitting on Size 5 needles (which would be Size 7 for most because I’m a really loose knitter).

I had thought to change colors every two garter ridges, but I managed to mess that up right quick, so it’s a random thing - one or two ridges, depending!

Part-way through the garter section I realized that the increases caused a big center block on the chest. To offset this - I decided to increase at the edges every row, instead of every other row. This creates a nice diagonal, and has the happy result of making the center almost a cowl neck feature.

I’m doing the same amount of the lace rows, but adding in increases at the bottom point every few rows because I’d like to have a rounder bottom edge - it seems to be working.

As to the edging with the fringe and bobbles - I’m definitely leaving out the bobbles but I am undecided about the fringe.

So I ended up doing the edging in the contrast color, and doing front on the lower half of the cowl but no bobbles. It seems to have worked.
