1/24: Done with one sweater, on with the next. I’m knitting this one in the round up until I get to the armpits. This project’s more involved than anything I’ve done in a while, and knitting most of it in one piece, plus the itty-bitty sleeves, will help insure I finish it.

This is also my first big project with my mom’s yarn. It’s soft and wonderful and I love working with it already. It’s 100% silk! It’s crazy soft and crazy silky! And it doesn’t splice very much either. Win, win, win!

1/26: I had to frog completely and cast on again yesterday morning because I had twisted my stitches when I started knitting in the round. I finally finished the running this afternoon. Before starting the body of the sweater, I used Excel to create a chart of the stitch pattern. I followed it perfectly and finished the first pattern repeat minutes before midnight.

Oh, and knitting 24 rows of 1x1 rib on 182 stitches is hell. Boring tedious hell.

1/28: It’s before noon and I’m almost done with the second pattern repeat. The stitch pattern looks good, but I know it’ll look amazing once I block the finished project. Now that I’ve charted it all out, it’s really easy to follow, and is building up quickly. And the silk yarn? I just want to cuddle with it all day long.
