Notes

The yarn is splitty. Cotton is less “filling” (than wool) and the stitches do not completely cover the carried colour.

I started on a 5.5mm hook but changed to 5mm for the last 4 rows as I felt it was getting too loose. I made the beanie quite long for a “down-on-the-ears” style.

Otherwise, really cool pattern. My friend loves it. The cool thing is that the spiral is the natural spiraling of in-the-round crocheting!

I rated the pattern as “medium”. There is no real difficulty, but the colourwork is always a challenge in dexterity, holding both yarns, changing colour and keeping tension all in an efficient manner does take some experience.
