Final comments:
- Overall smiley given based on my huge satisfaction with the construction, but also disappointment with the yarn
- the white stripe should have been placed higher on the chest.
- trick to tighten the ribbing without decreasing: change the hook of the backward pass (only) to 6mm
- trick to change the oval opening to more circular: increase on shoulder, decrease chest and back
- trick for smooth increase on sleeves: alternate left and right every other round instead of increase twice on either side of marker every fourth round
- increases on body: alternate on either side of marker, otherwise the body twists.
- starting chains on 10mm, and pick up in “third bump” immediatly in ribbing stitch to counteract curling up
- Inspired from Pullover in Eskimo. I used 5% longer sleeve.
- Using the indication of yarn usage for eskimo, the Tunisian crochet version uses 15-20% more, which is less than I feared! (but the indications for Andes are really suspect).
March 7th: reactivated :-) Started the bottom 10 rounds. It works up fast and beautifully. Now with picture, it’s not much but it gives a feeling of how it’s gonna look. It’s 94cm (37”) at the waist, widening to 106cm (42”) at the chest.
Start: so this is only the swatch made in Tunisian simple stitch (which I love).
Three sections marked with the small red markers at the bottom edge, plus the ribbing test a the far right.
- From the left on a 10mm Tunisian hook, gave 10st/10cm (4”).
- Middle section on a 9mm, gave 11st/10cm
- Right section on a 8mm, gave 12st/10cm
- Far right, 2x2 ribbing in Tunisian knit and purl on a 8mm.
