Cast on for a trip - worked the first triangle on the plane. Took a long time to do because there are several errors in the pattern, but once I figured them out, it was smooth sailing.
Errors:
- Honeycomb Pattern Chart (pg 11) the legend labels the “v” symbol as sl1 wyif but it really is sl1 wyib
- Row 17 written instructions at the end read “k2, m1R, k4, smA” but should read “k2, RT, k4, m1R, smA” the chart is correct
- Row 21 written instructions for the second half read “smB, K6, RT” but should read “smB, m1L, K6, RT” the chart is correct
- Row 22 written instructions for the first half read “p3], k5, p2” but should read “p3], p4, k5, p2” the chart is correct
These are rather annoying given the cost of the pattern, but manageable to figure out. I will say that the overall pattern is well written to this point, and I appreciate that there were charts and written instructions so that I had the ability to go back and forth to get things right. Fingers crossed that the rest of the sections are error free.
Finished triangle two today.
- Another issue noted - the pattern calls for 3 different needle sizes, but I have yet to see a reference to anything except “gauge size needles”. Looking ahead I was able to find a spot where the larger needle is called for, but not the smaller one. I’m not sure why we need three sizes at this point. Will update if I figure it out.

Floral Pattern 1, more errors:
- Row 7 written instructions start “K1tbl, k2, m1L, smA” and should read “K1tbl, k2, smA, m1L”; chart is correct
- Row 17 written instructions start “K1tbl, k2, m1L, smA” and should read “K1tbl, k2, smA, m1L”; chart is correct

First Transition Comb - additional errors:
- Row 1 written instructions state “knit to 1 stitch before mA, m1R” but it should read “knit to mA, m1R”; chart is correct
Floral Pattern 2 Errors (have to admit, this is getting annoying at this point)
- Row 5 written instructions end with “k2, k2tog, m1R, smA” and should end with “k2, yo, k2tog, m1R”

Made it to the final section of the first side! Since the sections are repetitive, no further issues have been identified though my knitting process. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take this project with me on a recent business trip - juggling the multiple needles sizes, with the quick changing of colors just made it too much movement for an airplane.
Also, finally found the reason that you need smaller needles! The instruction is a bit buried so I didn’t see it when I scanned through originally. The smaller needle is called for in the last section.
For my personal reference, gauge needle is US4, larger needle used in the transition sections is US5, smaller needle used in the final section is US3.
Now for final section errors:
- Row 8 written instructions end with “p3, k1, smA, sl1 wyif” and should end with “p3, k1, smA, k1, sl1 wyif”; chart is correct

Finished side one. Slightly less excited about side two - it’s quite the repetitive project. This one may sit for a bit while I refresh myself with other projects.
