Cast on as an alternate project to have on hand for an upcoming trip to Singapore and Japan. About 48 hours of total flight time, so I wanted a project with some interest.

Took a little bit to get the hang of the Dip stitch, I’m glad I started it at home and figured it out before struggling on the plane. Once the stitch clicks, the pattern is quite easy, and the constant shifting of colors keeps you motivated to get to the next switch.

Working on this more often than expected, on the last color change of the second Dip 5 repeat. Only one more Dip 5 section repeat after that!

I may actually do an extra Dip 5 repeat because it looks like I’ll have plenty of yarn left and would prefer to use as much of the yarn as possible. Will see where it stands after the last planned repeat.

Off the needles! Did one extra full repeat of the Dip 5 section. My rate limiter for a second extra repeat was the green, thought I had plenty of all the rest.

Went through the finishing rows with the variegated which was next in sequence and ended up extremely lucky to have enough to do it. 7g left at the end of the bind off. Not quite yarn chicken, but closer than I anticipated with as much yarn as I had left.

Push the limits, but do it with some caution if you want to add a few extra repeats!
