Wowza! I wasn’t prepared for a 42 page pattern! Very thorough!

I’m spending a lot of time reworking the order of my colors for the second half. Following the pattern order didn’t look great and I ripped out a large section.

My brain isn’t happy with the two halves being different stitches/lengths for just one of the sections. It’s odd and makes me wonder if the designer didn’t have enough MC to repeat it in the second half. However, I also was running low in MC (and have different ideas for how to color the hexagons) so I followed the pattern.

The rainbow middle hexagon sections needed a color rework as well. It felt very unbalanced with not enough MC as written (for my color palette. It’s definitely cool as a rainbow as written.) I switched the colors up entirely and alternate the background color of each rainbow stripe being either a CC or the MC. It’s working great.

This was one of the most fun things I’ve ever knit. Super enjoyable, and has me thinking of lots of possible variations, in both color, stitch pattern, and size.
