I have some definite tendencies. Most of my clothing is green, beige, black and grey, with the occasional blue mixed in. Most of my knitting leans in that general direction as well, and in recent years has been primarily Moebius shawls and scarves, hats and a ridiculous number of swatches and samples.

I have been very lucky since 2008 to occasionally knit sample garments for Ilga Leja, an incredible knitwear designer here in Nova Scotia.

Ilga helps broaden my horizons. I get to knit yarns that aren’t in my stash, with colours that are outside my usual palette, and patterns that use all that knitting knowledge I’ve built up over the years.

Here is the Firelight 2 large shawl which Ilga describes as a large, dramatic shawl that can double as a jacket.
