Notes

I have to say I was surprised to see such a subtle colour pop out of the bag when Ilga Leja brought me the Sahara Scarf sample garment project to knit. Okay, yes, it is the desert, but I had been knitting with handdyed yarns for so long, this was a jolt the system. By the time I had cast on I was in love. Soft, easy to knit with, incredible drape in the finished garment, here is Ilga’s description of the project…

The perfect project for a yarn named after the desert. This lightweight piece, made with a yarn that has baby camel in it, mimics its namesake: the desert.

The undulating stitch pattern echoes the shifting sands of the Sahara. An easy-to-memorize stitch pattern that is relaxing and a pleasure to knit.
