when each section has 37 st (33 stockinette, p1 k2-faux-cable p1) or 2.75” from the 2 rows of purl —

purl one row
next row k2t yo - repeat
next row purl in the next contrast color

next row knit all around placing markers every 37 st, each one starting one st before where the “point” st’s would be -

1st st after each marker will be a k - the st to the left of it is ssk, the 2 after the k st will be k2t - and do that every other row….

start with k1, k2t, k1, p6, k6, p6, k6, p6, k1, k2t - marker - do that for each section one time around - then every other row continue in pattern - every other row reduce before and after the k st after the marker. continue to center.

when decreased to 15 st, run the yarn thru those 15 st and voila!! and maybe block - or choose a pin/hatpin - add delusions of grandeur and hit your stride!!!!
