The pattern looks dramatic, but it is really quite simple to knit! My husband couldn’t believe how fast it knit up.

I really wanted a hat that I could wear in milder weather (hello, warmest December in Indy EVER!), as well indoors comfortably. This fits the bill. It is pretty lacy – when worn all of those yarn-overs stretch out. You could probably line it if you like the pattern but want more warmth, or I think a slightly bulkier yarn would work too.

I went down two needle sizes, but I often need too because I naturally knit loosely.
