Notes

Nice pattern in general, BUT… it’s obvious from the pictures in the .pdf that they didn’t even follow their own directions for the crown. There are clearly extra stitches beyond where the directions end. Be prepared to improvise, especially if you’re working at a small gauge like this.

When I got down to the last entrelac blocks, I had 14 sts. left, but a huge gap. I picked up 2 sts from the side of each block and just knit around, bringing me up to 42 sts, then I did a round of {k2tog, k1}(end with 28 sts), followed by a round of {K2tog}(14 sts), and another round of {k2tog} and then drew the tail through the last 7 sts. This still left me with a bit of an eyelet once I washed and blocked it, so I reinforced the crown with a bit of scrap yarn and it’s much better now.

My CO was also a bit tight, next time I think I’d go up a needle size for that step, or use a stretchier CO than longtail.

Gauge: 6 stitches per inch, 9 rows per inch, size 4 needles.
