The stitch pattern is taken from the “blossom chart” of the Laminaria shawl pattern from Knitty. The author also adapted the stitch patterns into a rectangular stole pattern, found here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/laminaria-rectang

The rectangular blossom chart is what I used. Start with a provisional cast on, wide enough to provide the length of sleeves you’re looking for, then knit until it’s long enough to wrap around your upper arms. Make sure to block the piece thoroughly before moving on, then unravel the provisional cast on and put it back on the needles. From this point on I followed the edging instructions from the Summer Affair shrug pattern, adding beads along the scalloped final edge. Hope this helps!

Correction: I unraveled the provisional cast on and put the stitches on waste cotton before blocking, so they wouldn’t be restricted by the stiff cast on. You can see how I did that in the blocking picture on the project page. :)
