Giftmas knitting begins.

This yarn is even bulkier than ‘super bulky’, so I went up from #13 needles to #15 needles, and cast on 8 fewer stitches than the pattern called for.

I re-knit the crown a couple of times because I wanted to use as much of my handspun yarn as I could, and in the end wasted only about 14 inches.

I also didn’t care much for the abrupt crown decreases and gathered look on the original pattern, especially for a unisex hat, so here are my mods:

R1: K2, k2tog, p2, p2tog
R2: k3, p3
R3: k1, k2tog, p1, p2tog
R4: k2, p2
R5: k2tog, p2tog
Draw tail through remaining 8 sts and BO.
