This started as a second shawl for my mother-in-law. She wears the first one often so I was happy to make another. But, after picking out this yarn and starting my boyfriend thought the yarn was a tad too dark. So, I’ll finish this shawl and give it to someone else who I know will appreciate it.

Alterations

I had a plenty of yarn so I decided to make it bigger. So in chart F, after finishing 8 I went back to row 1 (same chart) and started again. I altered this row by:

• YO, k1fb, then followed from the repeat section. At the end, after the repeat section I k1fb, YO, then finished the edge. No other changes required to repeat rows 1-8 of chart F.

I only repeated 1-8 in Chart F one extra time. I was tired of that pattern repeat so I thought I’d move on to the edging. I figured I could repeat that just as easily - and I could. I am now repeating rows 9-16 with no alterations to the pattern.
