Update: I released the pattern today!!! 1/13/2013

Project Description: These long, elegant fingerless cabled mittens are knit in the round from the purled cuff bottom to the top purled hand and thumb bind off. The mitten top showcases a large 9-stitch braided cable surrounded by 5 smaller 4-stitch rope cables that encircle the cuff. The 9-stitch braided cable and 2 of the 4-stitch cables continue across the back of the hand. The palm and thumb are knit in stockinette stitch. The chunky yarn makes for a fast knit.

I decided it would be nice to have long cabled fingerless mittens to match the cape I designed. After knitting and ripping out knitting for two days, I think I finally have a beautiful mitten design to match the cape. I love it so far! It was worth all the ‘birthing pains’! The two different cable types in this mitten are two of my favorites and I love how they combine. They will look very elegant when worn with the cape! The chunky yarn makes this a fast knit. This yarn is great at showing off cables.

Finished with designing and knitting the first mit! I’m writing up the pattern.
