Notes

My step-daughter requested some nice warm mittens so I am designing her a custom fit pair :-) Instead of plain ribbing I used Baby Cable Ribbing from pg. 40 of A Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker. I made the ribbing on size 5 needles to make it denser and warmer. I used Fair Isle technique on the hand and thumb area to “line” the mitten by using 2 strands of wool and interchanging strands every other stitch. The carried yarn formed the lining. This makes a nice thick warm mitten! I will write up the pattern soon. I need to finish the second mitten and send them off to her first!

Finished and photographed! Now to write up the pattern!

Patterned finished and posted for sale.
