Notes

Perfect pattern for a wedding gift!

Since I used worsted weight yarn I cut out rows 30 - 33 to avoid elongating the heart too much. This meant I also cut 2 stitches on each side of the heart. This worked just fine until row 47. I still cut out the first 2 stitches of the heart which meant I only decreased 4 instead of 5 stitches for the first ‘5 decrease’ and didn’t compensate for all the decreased stitches which works out just fine since the top is gathered and this fits the cozy to the shape of a teapot anyway. This meant I had 53 stitches after finishing the lace heart. After the eyelet row I doubled the number of stitches by knitting front and back loop to make a ruffle. I also did a yo k2 tog k2 on the 6th row and bound off using the “Summer flies” picot bind off. I added tassels instead of pom poms.
