Scarf 1: My first-ever real project, it was a simple garter stitch scarf out of Darice Dessert for my cousin, Joy. It was black, so you couldn’t really see anything except fuzzy softness, which was probably a good thing. 2006.

Scarf 2: Made for my sister out of Palette Collection #001. It’s in stockinette very short, since the ball only had 33 yards. Looks very novelty-ish, and I think it’s ugly, but she likes it, so whatever. 2006.

Scarf 3: I used the remaining Red Heart Super Saver leftover from a scarf my sister knitted, and I used it to practice a bunch of different lace patterns. I kept going until the yarn ran out. I love the color of this one and actually like it a lot, although it is a little short. I’ll wear it this winter. 2009.

Scarf 4: My sister had a bunch of leftovers of Bernat Bamboo Natural Blends, and I used them to make a SUUUPER long garter stitch scarf. It’s very soft, but not really warm. Because of bamboo’s stretchiness, every time I try it on, it grows another few inches. It’s way taller than me (5 feet), so you can wrap it almost any way possible. It sheds, though, and I wouldn’t wear it, so I’ll gift it to someone, sometime. 2009.

Scarf 5: I’m knitting this out of Debbie Mumm Traditions. I originally bought this skein as a test for a cardi, but quickly realized it would not work for that: too fuzzyish and too much of a PAIN to work with. That said, I adore this yarn -- it’s sooo soft, and the colors are gorgeous. It’s just bunchy to work with. Anyway, it’s in stockinette with 4-row alternating rib sections every 8 rows. The borders are lace. It turned out too short, but pretty. 2009.

Scarf 6: Made in about 1 hour out of a ribbon yarn (Palette Collection #023) I bought for 50 cents. I knitted it on size 17 needles, and it came out to the perfect scarf length -- stashbusting and gift-making all in one! Yay! 2009.

Cowl 1: Knitted from Palette Collection #087. Was a practice swatch that grew long, and I sewed it up and it’s a cowl. Stashbusting! 2009.

Scarf 7: Made of Palette Collection #087, in Walnut, on size 17 needles in seed stitch. My first Christmas gift knitting for this year! Someone will be the lucky recipient of a delish scarf. 2010.
