10/5/2010: Finished! This turned out beautifully, much better than my Olympics hat. I kind of want to keep it for myself, but I also want to gift it … Anyway, I only followed the Olympics hat’s pattern about halfway, then got bored and changed things up. Looks like I’ve got the hang of hats now, hooray! Someone had better appreciate this.

I found that my gauge with Microspun is taller than with Kashmira, so this is growing more quickly than I anticipated. Good, because my yarn’s running out faster, too! This is looking gorgeous so far, and I’m really (surprisingly) pleased with Microspun -- it’s super soft and has AMAZING stitch definition, and I picked a pretty color.

I’m remaking and improving my Olympics Hat. It will be looser and longer for a better fit. Stashbusting and Christmas knitting.
