Notes

Starting a new test for Helen Shrimpton. She sure has some awesome designs and it is such a privilege to test for her. This one starts out round but will end square and has texture galore!
Round 4 has you jumping right into the folding sc. This stitch takes me some time. Take it slow and be sure to it is looking just as it should before moving on to the next one. Even though I’ve done them before it still takes me a couple of stabs at it. :)
I took the time to block my project after round 27. Gives me a nice even edge to add the bead stitches. Bead stitches are really not hard but I do need to take my time with them. I check to see if they are laying on the hook and not getting bunched up. Sometimes I can see way to much of the dc post underneath if I’m not careful. I had some “curling” after round 30 but that came right out with the next round. Round 32,42 and 46 are not symmetrical at the corners.
Speaking of corners, always be careful not to miss hidden stitches when starting the sides. The half doubles are notorious for this. There are a few rounds that Helen will tell you to skip the hidden stitch. Round 54 and 64 are a couple of them so be sure to look for that.
I found round round 66 to go the slowest of them all. I love the look the puff shell made but I can say I was very glad to be finished with them by the end. :)
The star stitch in round 77/78 was a new one for me. All the blankets I’ve made and… nope not done the star stitch. I didn’t find it hard just slow. It’s worked over two rounds. The first round being the hardest. It took me a couple of tries but easy once you get going…pull up a loop in the eye, pull up a loop around the last “spoke”, pull up a loop in the stitch the last spoke is make into and then pull up a loop in each of the next two stitches and pull through all six loops. Then ch one to close. Just read and follow Helen’s instructions and you should not have any problems. The second round is just hdc.
I had some real curling of round 80 but it worked out the next couple of rounds. When I first saw round 86 I thought… what? Turns out it worked up fast and not hard. ALMOST THERE!
