Notes

Started another test of Helen Shrinpton. I was so excited she asked me to test again for her! Her patterns are always so pretty.
OK, anyone that knows me knows I’m not much for doing any project that has a lot of parts. I’m pretty sure I have never done a blanket entirely of squares. I sure learned a lot.
I used DK yarn… here in the US it’s called a sport weight or baby weight size 3 and a 4.00 mm (G) hook.
The pattern starts off with “plain” squares. These work up really fast and easy. I used a light variegated. Always remember the hidden stitches in the corners of all the squares. Count often. Each square will end with the same number of stitches so the attaching will be even.
Square #2 Once again be aware of the hidden stitches. This square is probable the most involved of the three. This one will cup some until it’s finished. Be sure to pull the long sc up to a good level. You don’t want these to be to tight. I love doing long sc. Their fast, fun and look great.
Square #3 I think I like making this one most of all. Worked up fast. Round 6 looks a bit intimidating but after one time through it you’ll see it’s real easy.
Connecting I used Surface slip Stitch Join recommended by Helen. Connecting has always been the part I dreaded most but this worked great. I had to go to You Tube video a couple of times and it took a bit to get comfortable with it. I started one evening and finished the next day. Pretty good for a newbie!
The Edging Super easy!
This blanket need lightly blocked once finished.
