Notes

Starting the test for the third of four baby blankets/throws designed by Frank O’Randle. Just getting started but it is working up fast and easy. Love the star shape! Counting is always very important and is essential in this blanket! Be on the lookout for the “hidden” stitches at the end of each point of the star. The hdc rounds are notorious for this. Starting with round 13, the dc rounds only have a ch2 in the points rather then ch3 as before. Be careful about the placement of the fptr’s on round 15. I took my finger and followed the stitch on round 14 down to the stitch in round 13 then placed the fptr in next stitch. The fptr should fall on the 4th dc of round 13. Had to take a short trip to the frog pond. Starting with round 19 I was experiencing ruffling. Pulled out 3 rounds. Really keep an eye on these few rounds. We were told that some ruffling is to be expected and will work out as you reach the “ fan ‘’ section. I started over with round 19. I haven’t changed hook size and it is going better. I just have been careful to have any slack in the stitches. In other words, I’m working it really tight. I have not changed hook size yet but many of you may need to to stop the ruffling. After round 27 I do have some ruffling but nothing excessive. Blocking will take that out. A stitch marker is a big help to mark the start of the round when doing the ch 2’s. I love this edging. It is thick and soft and adds great texture!
My Miny is now finished and lays out real well without blocking!
LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!
