Notes

I am so happy to be testing Frank’s latest design after setting out the last test. I love the look of this one. This pattern reminds me of Galaxy of Change, and that is one of my most favorite patterns. One thing I find interesting about this pattern is you can make the center look like a flower or a star just by the colors you use. :)
The first few round have worked up with no problems. Keep an eye on the corners. Some have a different stitch count then others. Round 11 in good example of this. In the corners you always have the first stitch kind of hidden. Look for that or your count will be off. Round 27.. there are fptr’s but there is a fpdtp in the center of that section. Round 27 adds wonderful texture. Take your time and be sure of your stitch placement. I’m getting real good at back post stitches. Round 32 can be time consuming. I often tell you to count. Even if you have never counted up til now DO SO!. You will have 14 chain 6 loops in each scallop. Count them as you go! You don’t want to get to the end and find you left out a loop half way back. Round 33 is a bit different but not as hard as it may seem. I will say.. read it carefully. I read it wrong at first. Pay real close attention to the brackets!!! Each scallop will have 24 hdc. once you get a few done it goes pretty fast. Just turn the loops so that the front is now the back and hdc into the top of the loop as directed. Be sure you count the sc on round 40. Round 47 is not a hard round but very hard to follow. It has a very long stitch sequence that makes it hard to mesmerize. I suggest marking the pattern off with a pin or better yet…wright each section out on a separate paper. Take your time and count the V stitches after your finished. On round 48 pay close attention to the the v stitches and ch 1’s. Be sure your crocheting into the v stitches only. Round 53 says TURN in big bold letters. Don’t miss that like someone did…. The frog pond is a very unhappy place. I had some ruffling after round 66 was complete. It seemed to work itself out after round 67 since there is no increases on that round. If you feel like yours isn’t laying flat don’t hesitate to go down a hook size. Almost finished. Love this pattern!
