Someone on Ravelry said they used this yarn for a sweater made from this pattern and their young grandson wore it because he loved it and it wasn’t scratchy. Having made wool sweaters for young kids that were not comfortable for them, I was sold.

I’m not a fan of working with acrylic, but Julius’s enthusiasm for this warm, heavy sweater made up for that!

My gauge was about 19 stitches and I couldn’t go any lower than size 7 needles with this Aran weight yarn. The sweater is heavy and dense. I knew the sweater would be a little large and that’s okay with a growing boy.
