I wanted to make this cardigan as soon as I first started knitting sweaters. It’s cozy and I’m already wearing it several days each week.
If I were to make it again, I’d start the pocket cables sooner. The way it turned out for me they are a bit too short for my taste, but I didn’t want the sweater to be any longer.
The pattern was easy to follow (though I had a hard time visualizing the four shoulder starts and how they fit together--thank you to the knitters who had pictures of that.). It’s the first I’ve made with set in sleeves. I had to pick up more stitches than called for with the size I was making because of my row gauge. I dealt with the increases by looking at one of the larger sizes and making something up.
The rustic yarn is soft and was fun to work with. I am not in love with the shift in the colorway from skein to skein, but I know many people don’t care about that.
I enjoyed meeting the shepherd and hearing him talk about his flock of White Pine Shetlands.
