Notes

II couldn’t get the yarn I wanted to knit this sweater so used the Berroco Lanas instead. It’s a bit heavier and coarser than what I wanted, which was Stonehedge Shepherds Wool.

This thing feels like an animal pelt! In a good way—heavy and warm. The sweater hasn’t been blocked yet, and I’m tempted to skip it because it looks good. But I’m also curious to see what blocking does for it. The sleeve cap is a little too triangular and maybe I can smooth that out a bit, as well as give it a light steaming on the tailor’s ham. That’s my only criticism of this pattern.

I see I didn’t get the bottom ribbing for front and back matched on one side as I sewed it up. Darn. That will always bother me! Despite that, I don’t mind seamed sweaters. They feel so much sturdier to me. I’ve learned to leave long tails whenever possible for stitching up. Also to do a figure eight when starting a seam—the ends align better that way.

I set this aside for the summer as it’s wool, and worked on lighter projects. Now it’s finished just in time for fall. Terry is appreciative—what more could a knitter want!
