Sweater is drying on the blocking boards. The yoke got really, really lengthy before the divide for arms so I knit only a couple of rows after the last increase row, and fewer than called for before the second to last increase row. I suspect leaving out the stitch pattern is the reason it got so long. When I tried it on, I estimated the side started about two inches below where it should, so I knit the length two inches less than what the pattern called for.

The other modification I made was not deceasing the sleeves. The pattern calls for decreasing half the stitches, making a tight little cuff on my arms which are not the smallest arms in the world, but a regular size. I took the first sleeve back to the beginning number of stitches and liked that looser fit so much better.

I like how it looks! Knitting with what is basically string and wearing the results is quite different than using wool and fitting a sweater. I think I’ll actually wear this, unlike most of the cotton and linen things I’ve made.
