Notes

Knitting, sewing, and crocheting.

I modified this pattern a little. I needed a lining for the skirt, so I sewed the skirt and lining fabric together, right sides together, pressed, and then I top-stitched them together and around the curve. Then, I went back and did another top stitch at the very edge of the skirt.

The fabric I used was a linen mix for the skirt, and the fabric frayed pretty easily. I put fray check on the inside seam where the skirt and bodice meet. If I did it again (and I probably will), I will zig zag that seam before sewing skirt and bodice together. That may not be enough with the skirt fabric I chose, and if it isn’t, I’ll add fray check and then add a ribbon over the seam to keep it from irritating a toddlers chest. I originally tried folding the top down for that edge, but it made the seam too bulky.
