Sewed a band of elastic together and crocheted 30 sc around then started dc. Increased to 64. Row before band I sc with pink mystery yarn. Picked up 64 sts with knitting needle size 8 and did ribbing 2 x 2. Bound off and sc around with pink again. Also sc over the purple on the elastic hole.

Orange/red hat
Used hair band and did 30 sc around then started dc. 1st row did 30 dc. Next Inc to 36; then to 42; then to 48; then to 58. Thicker yarn so I only increased that far. Did 3 more rows of 58. Pu 58 sts with sz 7 knitting needles and did 4 rows k1 p1. Bound off with stretchy bo. Made for 5 year old. Too small for head. Will Inc to 64.
