.030725. This project goes like popcorn. I think it’s because the increase/decrease rows in the pattern are at a different interval to the color changes (doing 4 rows of the larger color ball (varigates/multis), then 2 of the smaller ball (solids)).

.030125. Have turned first heel (sock w pink bullseye) and find the ankle is tight to pull on. Next pair, work two “ knit even” rounds after the three after the last increase. This will mean some fudging (maybe one more decrease round?) to get the foot back to 60 sts, but sb minor. Probably ok to leave the leg at a circumference larger than 60 sts (see below).

Notes for next time?

Minor bulge at the center of the bullseye, consider a smaller needle size for the first 1” or so.

Ankle is v tight. Consider up to 4 more rows of the octagon before heading to heel…this will mean fiddling with the st count above and below the octagon, but shouldn’t be too bad - just decrease til back at 60, right?

Pattern as written has a different number of sts on the instep vs the sole by one. I didn’t realize this and spent all kinds of energy trying to get my foot to 30 and 30…needn’t have bothered.

.081125. I love wearing these socks. They are still tight to pull on, but fit marvellously once on. The ankle will scrunch nicely if I want it to (for wearing w/shorts) or stay up nicely, too. I love wearing my friends’ colors.

No idea how many yards I started with or how many I knit. Last pair I completed (DRK Everyday Socks for 3 ply 2 way) used 297 yds. These socks have a bit less coverage, so let’s guestimate 275 yds knit.
