I used a bulkier yarn than called for and also used a bigger needle size for my version. Cast on the same number of stitches called for and got a fantastic shrug that is great for an added layer of warmth up during the Alaskan winters and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of it year round. I also chose to crochet my edges together rather than sewing them. I feel it gave a more polished look to the edges than sewing would have.
