After much searching along with trial and error, I finalized which stitch pattern I want for a knitted dragon egg bag. My plan is to work 3 repeats of the 12-row pattern for the body, then work my usual knotty icord bind off.

I decided not to do the M1 stitches for the last 2 rows of the stitch pattern. Now working the icord using 7sts for each “hole” 3 times then the 4-inch (actually 8 inches folded) loop.

Cast on for one of the blue eggs this afternoon, and almost finished the bag but stopped before working the last 50rows of icord for the knotted loop. This yarn is from a decade old — Martha Stewart line from Lionbrand.

Also I ocd’ed and dove around Rav to see if any sock patterns used the same basic stitch design. Lo and behold! The Smaug Socks are pretty on point to what I needed in a chart.

Finally had the chance to finish the 3rd of 5 dragon eggs! This orange one is a slightly larger “boy” egg with its lack of gold.

Purchased a wound cake of Darn Good Yarn Sparle Worsted in Phoenix Rising yesterday. The yarn bleeds enough that I am now wearing nitrile gloves and will need to change to metal needles so my Clover DPNS do not get stained.
