This yarn looks white indoors, but turns purple when exposed to the sun. It’s a lot of fun to demonstrate to friends while the project is underway.

The pattern is a very pretty complex lace and would probably look better in a softer, more luxurious yarn, but I was captivated by the Abracadabra in the shop and absolutely had to make something out of it. If I use this yarn again, it will be for a garment for a young child - imagine how thrilled a little girl would be with a magic color-changing sweater, for example.

I repeated the edging section of the shawl as much as necessary to use up all the yarn and have the shawl reach a reasonable size. Maybe five or six extra repeats - I lost count.
